Fin Pack: the worlds cheapest financial calculator that uses fish (really!)
What is it:
A simple little utility to help you do financial thinking. The calculations are simple, but tedious. So, here's a little tool to help you out.
The FinPac has 3 modules, not all of which are enabled at the moment.
Stocks/funds (ie investments)
Loans
Real Estate
Why is it:
cause I tend to analyze the hell out of things, and this makes it easier. Plus it was fun/easy.
Who wrote it:
me. Email me at boyle@spacsun.rice.edu
How is it:
it's a first release (hence the a in the version name); it won't crash your machine
(AFAIK), but there are some loose ends as it evolves. This version needs a ppc and a color display.
I could make it work for 68k and b/w machines, if anyone wanted it.
Where is it (Distribution):
Please do not distribute 'd' revisions without permission from the author.
Feel free to send anyone/any archive unaltered copies of unregistered 's'
revisions. I'll put out an 'a' rev just to let people play with it.
Give it to your friends, neighbors, or your fish if you like.
LEGALESE:
there is no warranty or assurance of any kind stated or implied for FinPac (aka Cret).
Anyone who uses it does so at their own risk, and the author isn't liable for jack.
If you like lawyers, go bugger yourself. If you sue me, I'll hurt you. A lot. On the
other hand, everyone is welcome to use and enjoy this program within those
constraints. I hope you get rich. Have fun. If you make or lose money, it's not my fault.
Deal with it.
share and enjoy (or should that be 'invest and become wealthy...'?),

ps comments and suggestions are appreciated
REVISION HISTORY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IPR 1.0a 4/22/96
You're welcome to play with it now, and I'll release another version when I
add the other modules.
It's just something I do when I have a spare hour on a weekend, so don't hold your breath...
:)

3.5 (fixed) hog factor chopped down
features under consideration for the future:

8. real estate (someday...)
9. printing? (in another life)
10. boss key? nah.
IR 1.0d sometime in the dark ages
Basically it works, it looks ok, and I disabled the graphics stuff. Found a
few minor cosmetic bugs to squash.
Actually, most of those changes occur in one routine which is **so** ugly and kludgy that
the code police would have apopleptic seizures if they saw it. That function is due
for a rewrite anyway. (fixed)
